On 9 December 2025, the international #EndTB webinar “Collaborating across sectors for migrants and refugees’ people-centered TB care” took place.
This was the final interactive event in the three-part global #EndTB webinar
series on operationalizing the MAF-TB (Multisectoral Accountability Framework
to End TB), organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration
with the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC).
The webinar brought together 140 participants from various countries and regions, including representatives of National TB Programmes, ministries, civil society organizations, communities, WHO country and regional offices, UN agencies, donors, and other stakeholders.
After the opening and inspiring remarks on the importance of multisectoral action, Hannah Monica Dias, Crosscutting Lead – TB & Multisectoral Engagement, WHO Department for HIV, TB, Hepatitis & STIs, presented approaches to strengthening the global multisectoral response to address TB among refugees and migrants.
During the following interactive session, the speaker responded to participants’ questions and discussed with them the unique needs of migrants and refugees in the context of accessing TB services.
Participants then joined a panel discussion, “Putting people first: Multisectoral solutions for people-centered TB services for migrants and refugees,” where they heard insights from five speakers representing international and national organizations working with refugee and migrant populations:
- Maheswari P. Murugayia, Public Health Officer, UNHCR Geneva
- Aleksandar Arnikov, Senior Programme Officer, Health Promotion and Assistance, IOM
- Joanna Ładomirska, Medical Coordinator, TB Project in Poland, MSF
- Dr. Muna Al Maslamani, Senior Infectious disease specialist, Qatar
- Md. Akramul Islam, Senior Director, BRAC Health Programme
The event concluded with another interactive discussion moderated by Yuliia Kalancha, Executive Director of the TB Europe Coalition.
We sincerely thank all speakers for their insightful presentations and all participants for their active engagement throughout the webinar.
