TBEC Programme Managers joined the Community Engagement Strategic Initiative Partner Meeting

This week, from November 1 to 3, the Community Engagement Strategic Initiative Partner Meeting is taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.


TBEC Programme Managers Vlada Rabinova and Lesya Tonkonog, are sharing the experience of Coalition in implementing short-term and long-term technical assistance projects. They are also actively participating in discussions and analysing successes and challenges across various aspects of activities within the implementation of the Strategic Initiative.


During the 3-day meeting, which brought together around 50 participants from around the world, the main focus was on:

• Preparation for the operationalization of GC7 CE SI based on a reflection of lessons learned from GC6

• Introduction CE SI partners to key changes in the CE SI for GC7 and updating on community engagement minimum expectations, engagement planning approach and tool, OD self-assessment approach and toolkit

• Building a joint understanding of financial and programmatic reporting, risk management, safeguarding, etc.

• Developing country-specific roadmaps for engagement planning in Q1 2024

• Exchanging learning and ideas on country context and addressing bottlenecks in engagement, coordination of responsibilities and timeline for development of engagement plans

• Developing a joint approach to communication and learning, including reviewing the Community Engagement Toolbox , adapting them and identifying topics for regional learning
