The webinar “Communication for political change: MAF-TB launch and key asks inclusion into UN HLM Political Declaration on TB” took place on May 29, 2023.
We would like to thank the speakers and participants of the first practical webinar from the series "The ABC for a TB Activist" which was dedicated to communication for political changes. During the online event, which was attended by over fifty representatives of CSOs and affected communities, issues related to engaging decision-makers and stakeholders in the launch of the Multisectoral Accountability Framework (MAF-TB) and including key asks in the UN HLM Political Declaration on TB were presented.
Dr. Robyn Waite, policy and advocacy lead for the TB HLM 2023 Affected Communities and Civil Society Coordination Hub, provided participants with information about the zero draft of the Political Declaration and the recommendations received from civil society. She also shared the schedule of debates in the General Assembly regarding the draft document and shared useful advocacy materials developed by the Coordination Hub.
Aleksandra Vasylenko, TB Europe Coalition PR Manager, presented the developed by TBEC “Communication guide to facilitate initiation and launch of Multisectoral Accountability Framework to accelerate progress to end TB at the country level” and provided a detailed overview of the Guide's structure and the issues described in the document.
