With the support of TBEC a webinar "Engaging civil society and communities during the new GF funding cycle, in particular through the mechanism of multisectoral interaction" was held

With the support of TB Europe Coalition and within the framework of the GC7 project of the Strategic Initiative "Community, Rights and Gender", funded by the Global Fund, a webinar "Engaging civil society and communities during the new Global Fund funding cycle, in particular through the mechanism of multisectoral interaction" was held on 11 April, 2023.

The purpose of the event is to increase awareness of CSO representatives about the work of Multisectoral accountability framework to accelerate progress to end TB (MAF-TB), as well as to establish a common vision and close cooperation between key stakeholders towards ensuring equal access to quality medical and social services for people with TB.

Aleksandra Vasylenko, TBEC PR-Manager, explained in detail how the components of the MAF-TB work, as well as the role of CSOs and communities at each stage of its implementation in Ukraine.
Olya Klymenko, Chair of the Board of TBpeopleUkraine, shared with participants the results of the re-evaluation using Annex 2 of the MAF-TB Checklist, conducted in Ukraine to fully reflect existing partnerships, identify gaps and special needs in the context of the TB response, including the challenges faced by civil society organizations during the full-scale war. The speaker also presented recommendations developed on the basis of this assessment to strengthen the role of the civil sector in the country.

Sergey Mironyuk from the Center for Public Health of Ukraine presented to the participants of the meeting practical tools and mechanisms of influence and overcoming barriers in the field of TB, including a person-centered approach, the CLM model, paralegal assistance, etc.
